The Nene Valley Railway’s Spring Southern Steam event in March has been boosted with the confirmation that LBSCR ‘Terrier’ Martello is to visit from Bressingham Steam and Gardens.

The 1875-built A1X 0-6-0T will operate brake van rides from Wansford to Yarwell, in addition to working short demonstration freight trains around Wansford.
With SR Schools 4-4-0 Repton already booked to visit from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, joining resident SR Bulleid Battle of Britain light Pacific No. 3408192 Squadron, the gala will provide the sight of three Southern-liveried locomotives all together.
Nos. 926 and 34081 will double-head some trains. The maintrain service will operate using Mk.1 coaches with a licensedbuffet on board.
