Ex-NZGR Ja Class 4-8-2 Ja 1271 makes a steam and volcanic departure from Otaki station heading north, 21st August 2016.

Ja 1271 is based at the Steam Incorporated depot at Paekakariki, near Wellington, New Zealand. It is one of their two mainstay locomotives being used regularly on mainline excursions.
