The Leighton Buzzard Railway’s centenary spring gala will be held over the bank holiday weekend of May 4, 5 and 6.

An enhanced timetable will operate on all three days, with hourly departures from Page’s Park between 1030 and 1530 complemented with three freight workings. As well as ‘home’ locomotives Doll and the Greensand Railway Museum Trust’s Baldwin 778, there will also be the opportunity to ride behind visiting Hunslet 303 of the War Office Loco Trust, and to see restored armoured Simplex 2182.

In addition, renowned author Alan Keef will be signing copies of his new Simplex book, and there will be the opportunity for visitors to experience the trail at Stonehenge Works, upgraded for the centenary year of the line. Full details, as well as fee-free online booking, can be found at www.buzzrail.co.uk.
