Statfold Barn Railway is pleased to confirm that their two Quarry Hunslet locomotives Lilla and Britomart will both be appearing at the railway for their Enthusiast Weekend – Quarry Hunslet 150+1 – on July 10 and 11.

Lilla 554 of 1891 was originally built for the Cilgwyn Quarry before moving to the Penrhyn Quarry in 1928.

Lilla has been based at the Ffestiniog Railway since 1993 and is looked after by members of the ‘Lilla Locomotive Group’.

Britomart 707 of 1899 was built for the Pen-yr-Orsedd Quarry. A group of FR staff and volunteers purchased Britomart in 1965 and moved it to Boston Lodge for a return to steam.

Tickets for the event are available now from the Statfold Barn Railway website. Tickets are limited to accommodate social distancing, so don’t miss out by booking at www.statfoldbarnrailway.co.uk.

They are happy to have this opportunity to build upon their already close working relationship with Statfold Barn with Prince having already visited this year, and their pioneering Beyer Garratt K1 having been immaculately restored by the skilled staff at their workshops.
