With the rise of social media, it’s easier than ever to share your love of all things trains and gain a following. Here are some of the content creators we’re loving right now.

Francis Bourgeois

Probably the biggest trainspotter going these days, to the point he’s known as the “Train Guy”, Francis took trainspotting mainstream when his joyful TikTok and Instagram videos went viral last year. Since then he’s secured a book deal, appeared on This Morning and worked with everybody from Gucci to Percy Pig!

Geoff Marshall

Geoff’s YouTube channel has over 280,000 subscribers and is regularly filled with exciting videos covering a whole host of train-themed topics, including a series where he visits the least used train stations around the country. He’s twice held the Guinness World Record for travelling to all London Underground stations in the fastest time, and is even the voice on Thameslink trains.

Gareth Dennis

Gareth Dennis is an engineer and writer, plus the host of the weekly podcast #RailNatter, which now has over 100 episodes. On the podcast Gareth chats about all things rail, from rail history to the latest developments. As an industry insider, Gareth is full of interesting facts and insider opinions. Plus, he regularly features a whole host of special guests who join him for a good natter.

Daisy Champman-Chamberlain

“Queen of the Railways” Daisy Champman-Chamberlain (@RailwayQueen on Twitter) is a Rail Knowledge Transfer Manager at Innovate UK KTN. She uses her Twitter to share pictures from her train-related travels, and to raise awareness for important issues such as women’s safety on the tracks. Plus, you can subscriber to her newsletter, which Daisy describes as “a mix of news, creativity, innovation, and fun!”

Sam (@samstrainphotography)

Sam is an excellent rail photographer with over 2,000 followers on Instagram. Sam is a rail worker and keen trainspotter, which he describes as helping him to cope with autism and anxiety. He regularly shares new pictures and also uploads videos to his YouTube channel most days, so you’ll never be short of content!

Brian Bancroft (@traindriverbrian on TikTok

Brian is a train driver with over 14,000 followers on TikTok. He keeps his followers entertained with tales from his time on the track and answering their burning questions, including what happens when spiders and wasps get into the cab! Brian also keeps his followers updated on his model railway progress, and we’re not complaining about the adorable pet videos either!
