The Mid-Norfolk Railway operates East Anglia’s longest heritage railway which runs between Dereham, Wymondham and North Elmham with long term ambitions to restore the line further north to County School.

We are looking to further develop and expand our offering and need to strengthen our management team by recruiting an Operations Manager to play a key role in this development. The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate previous experience in a similar or related role, ideally gained within the railway industry and preferably have had involvement of working within a predominantly volunteer organisation.

The post holder will head up the operations team, having overall responsibility for competence management and the safe running of all train operations, as well as manage volunteers and rostering provisions.

This post is full time role, based in Dereham, Norfolk, and will include weekend work during the operating season. It may suit someone approaching retirement who desires a new challenge, but also someone earlier in their career who wants to expand their horizons. Remuneration will be based on experience.
