The National Railway Museum is reopening Search Engine on Wednesdays from 6 September 2023.

The National Railway Museum’s Search Engine is a research and archive facility.
On Wednesdays, the Search Engine will now be open for books (including the children’s book area), journals, microfilm, films and PC access.
From the history of steam through to 21st century rail transport news, we have titles that cater for all rail enthusiasts. Covering diesels, modelling, steam and modern railways, check out our range of magazines and fantastic subscription offers.
The new opening hours will be Wednesday to Saturday 10.00-16.30, providing an additional day of access. Access to the archives is available Thursday to Saturday.
