The colourful Class 60s

Ian Edmondson presents the first of a two-part photographic study into some of the main liveries carried by the Class 60s, looking this month at those colour schemes carried by the locomotives up to and including their operation by English Welsh & Scottish Railways.

West Somerset sensation

The Diesel & Electric Preservation Group is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the mainline diesel locomotives in use on West Somerset Railway. Andy Coward spent the day with DEPG volunteers to find out more about their historic fleet.

Signalling on the Harrogate loop

Network Rail North and East Route operations director Chris Gee details the diverse signalling arrangements and signalboxes which control train movements over the Harrogate loop line between Leeds and York.
