Northern launches £2 flash sale on 4 million tickets

Northern has released four million £2 tickets for journeys across the North of England.

The train operator launched the sale on Wednesday 2 September.

It closes on Friday 4 September and is available on tickets valid for travel between 9 September and 23 October 2026.

Destinations with the most tickets available include Leeds, Manchester Piccadilly, Sheffield, Bradford Forster Square, Ilkley, Liverpool Lime Street, Skipton, York, Manchester Airport, Blackpool North, Doncaster, Preston, Newcastle, Hull, Wigan, Hadfield, Manchester Victoria, Carlisle, Manchester Oxford Road, Knottingley, Lancaster, Southport, Warrington Central and Saltburn.

Alex Hornby, Commercial and Customer Director at Northern, said: “With four million tickets up for grabs, this is one of our biggest Flash Sales yet, and there’s something for everyone.

“With millions of tickets available for just £2 each, our Flash Sale will make the railway even more appealing, and we believe it will inspire everyone to explore everything our fantastic region has to offer, from bustling cities to countryside and stunning coastlines.

“Customers will need to book early to avoid disappointment – once they’re gone, they’re gone!”

Tickets are available to buy on Northern’s app, online, and at ticket offices and on ticket machines at stations managed by Northern.

Northern is the second largest train operator in the UK, with 2,650 services a day to more than 500 stations across the North of England.
