Branch Line Society and Vintage Trains team up for West Midlands ‘Balti bash’

VINTAGE Trains and the Branch Line Society are offering an opportunity to enjoy the tasty combination of rare track, Class 20s and a curry – all on the same train!

Starting from Solihull, the September 22 tour will run to Shrewsbury via Warwick, Sutton Park and the Ironbridge branch.

A pair of London Transport red Class 20s have been booked to top-and-tail the BLS/Vintage Trains ‘Balti Bash’ around the West Midlands on September 22. On July 27, No. 20142 was on standby duty, attached to the rear of VT’s ‘White Rose’ charter from Dorridge to York. With No. 45596 Bahamas leading, the return leg approaches Rotherham Masborough. LES NIXON 

After a break in Shrewsbury, the return route takes in Bescot, Stourbridge Junction, Smethwick, Birmingham Snow Hill and Moor Street to Warwick, reversing to set down passengers at Hatton, Dorridge, and Solihull.
