The good news from Darjeeling Tours is that their 2020 Indian rail tours are already fully booked. Don’t panic though, more tours for early 2021 are on the way.

Firstly, Darjeeling Tours have their regular Indian Magic tour which visits the Darjeeling line, as well as the Shimla and Ooty mountain narrow gauge lines. You’ll be able to visit the iconic Taj Mahal too!

You will also be visiting the lesser-known Kangra Valley narrow-gauge line where you can discover the many amazing possibilities of steam haulage.

This journey will feature a visit to Amritsar, whose Golden Temple is regarded by many as a fantastic alternative attraction to the Taj Mahal. Full details of these tours will be available on Darjeeling Tours website at www.darjeelingtours.co.uk by 31 January.

In the meantime, they also have two fascinating tours with slots available in 2020. This September, Darjeeling Tours will provide their regular annual tour of Colorado’s best scenery and best railways.

Darjeeling Tours said: “Last year we were able to chase the recently restored ‘Big Boy’ from Cheyenne to Speer, sharing the chase with only one other car and a UP van! It’s a wonderful area, and with our contacts, we can get behind the scenes in most places.”

They also have an incredible three weeks in Australia planned for November 2020, covering the best tourist attractions and a really good selection of railway experiences, including the Queensland sugar trains. Take a quick look at the downloadable itinerary from their website.

Looking further ahead, Darjeeling Tours are planning something special in New Zealand for November 2021, so keep an eye on their advertisements for more details in due course.

They finish: “We are sure you will be impressed. We hope to welcome you on some of our tours soon!”
