Model railway manufacturer Dapol is marking World Book Day 2026 with a range of specially liveried UK-produced wagons, supporting reading-for-fun charity efforts with every sale.

Dapol has announced a new range of UK-produced wagons to coincide with World Book Day, which takes place on 5 March 2026. The charity-linked models will be available in both OO Gauge and O Gauge, with a donation made to the World Book Day charity for every wagon sold.

The manufacturer has partnered with Browsers Bookshop, a family-run independent bookshop based in North Wales, and Book Law Publications, an independent publisher, to produce the themed liveries. Both organisations have allowed their branding to be featured alongside the official World Book Day logo on the wagons.

World Book Day promotes reading for enjoyment, highlighting the benefits reading can bring to young people’s lives. The charity has previously noted that only around one in three children currently enjoys reading, with initiatives such as World Book Day designed to encourage reading as a positive and enjoyable activity.

The new wagon range is scheduled to arrive at retailers in March 2026. Dapol has shown a selection of proposed liveries and decorated samples, with final production models subject to change. Each design will also be offered in a weathered version.

In OO Gauge, the range includes ventilated vans carrying World Book Day, Browsers Bookshop and Book Law Publications liveries, available in both pristine and weathered finishes. O Gauge versions include Conflat and container wagons, also offered in clean and weathered variants.

The models feature detailed body mouldings and accurately applied liveries. OO Gauge wagons are supplied with NEM coupling pockets and self-centring couplings, while O Gauge models include appropriate couplings and decorative chain detailing on the containers.
