Ahead of Mangapps’ 30th anniversary commemorations over the August Bank Holiday weekend, two diesel locomotive line ups (for photographic purposes) were organised by James Jolly on August 23. One featured the four big locos, while this one was for the ex-BR shunters. These were Nos. D2325, 03089, 03399 and 03197, the middle two locos coupled to ‘match wagons’, ‘Conflat A’ No. TDB 702702 and ‘Conflat L’ No. TDB 530006. Picture: STUART CHAPMAN

The line has grown enormously since then, when the presence of main line diesels would have been unimaginable, but this event fielded four. There is now much new development of the site taking place.

An intensive train service was operated all weekend, diesel-only on Saturday, steam and diesel on Sunday and Monday.
