Waleswood joins Chasewater line fleet

HUDSWELL, Clarke 0-4-0ST Waleswood (750/1906) has joined the Chasewater Railway’s operating fleet on long-term loan after more than 30 years out of action.

The former Waleswood Colliery locomotive transferred from its restoration base at the Northamptonshire Ironstone Railway Trust to Chasewater on September 1, having spent the last three years undergoing a major overhaul by owner Colin Stott.

Hudswell, Clarke 0-4-0ST Waleswood runs off the shed road at the Chasewater Railway’s Brownhills West headquarters on September 8 during its first test runs since the completion of its overhaul. ALISTAIR GRIEVE
