Kidbrooke and Rishra visit Statfold road and rail event

BAGNALL 0-4-0ST Kidbrooke (2043/1917) from the Yaxham Light Railway and Leighton Buzzard Railway’s Baguley 0-4-0T Rishra (working on the ‘Garden’ line) appeared at Statfold Barn Railway’s September 7 event, which featured 15 locomotives in steam plus ex-Burton & Ashby 3ft-gauge tram and ‘Goose’ railcar.

Visiting Bagnall 0-4-0ST Kidbrooke is piloting Hudswell, Clarke 0-4-0ST Lautoka Mill No. 19 as it approaches Statfold Junction with a passenger service on September 7. New-build Hunslet 0-4-0STs Statfold and Jack Lane are seen easing out of the headshunt to run up to the yard. Kidbrooke appeared as part of its farewell tour in advance of withdrawal in late October, on expiry of its boiler ticket. CLIFF THOMAS
